Exporting Contacts

Contacts are typically the most important data to migrate, and most email marketing tools support importing contacts via CSV files.

How to Export Contacts from Transpond

  1. Go to Contacts
  2. Switch to the Export tab
  3. From there you can select either ‘All Contacts’ or use the drop down menus to choose a specific group or segment for the export, as well as a specific contact status if needed.
  4. Click the button to Export Contacts to start the export.
  5. The file will be downloaded to your computer, but you’ll also see a history of your exports where you can re-download them as needed.

What Is Included

The exported CSV file typically includes:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Custom fields
  • Tags
  • Last send, open, clicked and bounce dates

We have more details on exporting contacts our Contact Export article.

What to Check Before Importing

Before importing into another tool:

  • Open the CSV file and review column headers.
  • Remove any fields that are not supported by the new platform.
  • Confirm that opt-in and consent related fields are mapped correctly.

Exporting Email Templates

Email templates can sometimes be imported directly into another tool as they HTML.

How to Export Email Templates from Transpond

  1. Go to Campaigns > Templates
  2. Click on the three little dots next to the template you want to export and use the option to Export HTML.
  3. An HTML file will be downloaded directly to your computer.
  4. Repeat this process for all the templates you want to export.

Important Limitations

  • Styling may not render identically in the new platform.
  • Platform-specific variables and merge tags will need to be replaced.
  • Dynamic content rules usually cannot be migrated and must be recreated.

Exporting Campaign Reports

Campaign reports are useful for historical reference but cannot be imported into another platform in a functional way.

How to Export Campaign Reports from Transpond

  1. Go to Campaigns.
  2. Click on the Reports button in the top right corner.
  3. Go to the Reports or Analytics section.
  4. Click the button to Create a Report.
  5. Choose the report you want, with the options you need, and then click the button to Run
  6. When ready, the export will download to your computer.
  7. Repeat this process for any campaigns you want to retain records for.

We have more details on Campaign reports in our Campaign Reports help article.

Important Notes

  • Campaign performance data generally cannot be imported into another tool as historical metrics.
  • New platforms will only track performance from the moment you start sending through them.

Exporting via the API

For access to additional data or to automate your export, you can use the Transpond API.

The API provides structured, machine-readable access to your campaigns, contacts, automations, and reporting data.

Before You Close Your Transpond Account

Before cancelling or downgrading your Transpond account, make sure that:

  • All required contact lists have been exported.
  • Important templates are saved or recreated.
  • Any reports needed for compliance or internal reporting are downloaded.

Once the account is closed, access to this data will no longer be available.
